The new Governing Board elects leadership during the first meeting in Vilnius

On February 14, the newly-elected composition of the European Humanities University (EHU) Governing Board met in Vilnius for the first time. Among other agenda issues, former Prime Minister of Lithuania Andrius Kubilius was elected Chair, Dr. Megaklis Petmezas of the University of Sheffield — Vice-Chair of the Governing Board.

During the course of the meeting, members of the Governing Board discussed a broad range of issues, related to the state of affairs of EHU, implementation of Strategy 2019-2024, as well as the level of research and artistic output by University faculty.

Thanks to the participation of representatives of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and European Union Delegation to Belarus, members of the Governing Board were able to discuss the state of donor support provided to the Belarusian University-in-Exile.

Members of the Governing Board also met representatives of the student community, including Students’ Union and discussed ways, how the advantages of liberal arts education, as offered by EHU can be provided to a wider range of prospective students from Belarus and beyond.
