The exam has to be taken by applicants who do not have an international IELTS (TOEFL) certificate or EHU graduates who want to improve their marks in a foreign language.

The EHU exam in English for application to Master’s degree studies consists of two parts – the online test, which includes the following 3 sections (80 points): reading, listening and lexical-grammatical section, as well as an oral interview in the Zoom application.

The test is based on the IT-based TOEFL principle. Successful completion of the entrance test requires the applicant to have proficiency in English at the Intermediate / Upper-Intermediate level. The test is graded automatically by the system. Immediately after the end of the test, the score will appear on the screen. The correspondence of your mark to the ECTS scale can be found in the table below:

The interview will be conducted using the Zoom application. Please check the camera and microphone to be configured correctly in Zoom. An interview with one applicant takes about 10 minutes. Based on this, roughly orient yourself at what time the examiner will get in contact with you and, please, stay online.

Registration for the exam for admission to the Master’s programs is open via the link. The exam will be held on May 23, June 26 and July 9. The registration will close three days prior the date of the exam. The test runs within 100 minutes.

The applicant is given one attempt to complete the test.

The login and password for accessing the online test, as well as the instructions for the oral interview, will be sent individually to each participant by e-mail specified in the registration form.

In accordance with the general criteria of competitive selection for EHU Master’s degree programs, the mark for the exam in English must be not lower than 7.0 points.
