EHU elects new Governing Board for 2020-2023

On January 6, the General Assembly of Part-Owners (GAPO) of the European Humanities University (EHU) elected a new composition of the University’s strategic management body — the Governing Board — for a period of 3 years.

According to the Statutes, the Governing Board approves the Strategic Plan and Statutes, structure and donations, study programs and budget, as well as takes care of the other aspects of the strategic management of the University.

Upon confirmation of the new membership of the Governing Board, Chairman of the GAPO Horton Beebe-Center says: “I thank the new Governing Board members for their willingness to serve and express gratitude to the University partners for helping us to form such a qualified team in order to provide guidance to EHU in implementing Strategy 2019-2024 in the years ahead.”

Rector Prof. Sergei Ignatov adds: “I am thrilled to welcome these distinguished individuals to EHU Board. Their unique backgrounds and diverse experience will make them a great asset to EHU. The Board will continue the strategic direction of the University with a special focus on strengthening the academic work and achievements”.

Following membership composition of the EHU Governing Board is adopted for the 3 years period, starting January 6, 2020:

  • Dr. Jonathan Fanton (USA)
    President Emeritus of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences
  • Mindaugas Kačerauskis (Lithuania)
    Deputy Director at the Development Cooperation Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania
  • Andrius Kubilius (Lithuania)
    Member of the European Parliament, former Prime Minister of Lithuania (1999-2000, 2008-2012)
  • Dr. Megaklis Petmezas (Greece)
    Vice Principal for Communication, Marketing and Student Recruitment at the International Faculty, City College, University of Sheffield (Main Campus in Thessaloniki)
  • Reinhard Stuth (Germany)
    General Manager and Partner at HanBao Energien, former Minister for Culture and Media at Hamburg State Government (2010-2011)
  • Prof. Sergei Ignatov, ex officio (Bulgaria)
    Rector of the European Humanities University
  • Prof. Anatoli Mikhailov, ex officio (Belarus)
    President of the European Humanities University

The Governing Board is expected to convene its first meeting in February 2020.
