As part of his visit, organized by EHU Academic Department of Social Sciences, Mr. Ruben Harutunian spoke with the students. During the meeting participants discussed the prospects of democratization in Belarus and the special place of EHU in this process, the importance of supporting Belarusian civil society by the international community and the United States, the significance of international educational exchanges and career opportunities in American companies for qualified specialists from Belarus. The discussion aroused lively interest in the audience, students actively asked questions and shared their opinions.
Before the event, EHU Rector Prof. Sergei Ignatov and Associate Professor Ingrida Danėlienė, Head of the Academic Department of Social Sciences, welcomed Mr. Ruben Harutunian and Jon Bowermaster, Political and Economic Officer, thanked the distinguished guests for their visit. The head of the diplomatic mission expressed his gratitude for the invitation and noted the key role and significant contribution of the University to the development of civil society institutions, the strengthening of legal consciousness and the spread of the values of freedom and democracy.
