17 candidates submitted applications for the position by the September 15, 2022 deadline. Following multiple interviews and reviews of qualifications, on December 12, 2022 the Search Committee identified 3 candidates for a Short List. These candidates were evaluated jointly by the Governing Board and GAPO on January 12, 2023, resulting in the selection of a finalist for the position. To protect the privacy of applicants and in compliance with relevant statutes, EHU has not publicly shared the personal information of candidates for the position.
EHU will undertake contract discussions with the finalist and, pending the successful conclusion of these discussions, the Governing Board and GAPO will announce the selection of EHU’s new Rector – possibly before the end of this month.
