As a result of ongoing oppression, students of Belarus-based Universities continue to be confronted with daily pressure due to their civic and political standing. Thanks to the financial support of the Government of Lithuania and the 15 year-long experience of operations in exile, the European Humanities University reaffirms its readiness to enroll students, experiencing political repressions in Belarus.

During the last two days, more than 50 students of various fields of study were expelled from Universities in Belarus. Citizens of Belarus, who were studying Humanities, Social Sciences, and Arts are eligible to apply to EHU in order to be enrolled on the basis of the transfer of credits.

Earlier the Government of Lithuania has taken a decision to allocate €200 000 to support Belarusian students for their studies at EHU. Thanks to this step, students who were confronted with the political pressure in Belarus, can request a tuition-free waiver to continue their studies at EHU.

Since September, EHU has already provided tuition-free places for 19 citizens of Belarus from the funds of the Government of Lithuania.

Following high residence and low residence study programs of EHU are available for transfer:

  • Undergraduate program “Visual Design” (Bachelor of Arts)
  • Undergraduate program “European Heritage” (Bachelor of Humanities)
  • Undergraduate program “Media and Communication” (Bachelor of Social Sciences)
  • Undergraduate program “World Politics and Economy” (Bachelor of Social Sciences)
  • Integrated studies program  «International Law and EU Law) (Master of Law)

The leadership of EHU maintains a dialogue with international foundations in order to raise additional funding for politically oppressed students from Belarus. It is expected that this will further increase the number of students, who will benefit from continuing their studies at EHU in the ideology-free and liberal arts-driven environment.
