Neada Mullalli joins the Panel of the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition

On June 23-28, Lecturer Neada Mullalli of the European Humanities University (EHU) Department of Social Sciences, participated in the 18th Edition of the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition, as a Panel Member. She was invited both at the European Regional Rounds that took place in Brno, Czech Republic, in March, as well as in the Final Oral Round.

The John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition is organized by the European Law Students’ Association. At EHU, Lecturer Mullalli teaches the World Trade Organization (WTO) Law course for the International Law and European Union Law students, and in turn, John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition has strong academic support from WTO. The Competition is a simulated hearing of the WTO dispute settlement system. The teams prepare and analyze a fictive case and present their arguments both for the Complainant and the Respondent in front of a Panel which consists of WTO and trade law experts.

The best 20 teams from all over the world are qualified to participate in the Final Oral Round that usually takes place at the WTO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year the Final Oral Round was carried out virtually on June 23-28. Among the best teams of this year’s competition were:

  • Winner: Government Law College, Mumbai (India)
  • Runner up: KU Leuven (Belgium)
  • The National University of Singapore (Singapore), Harvard Law School (United States), University of Geneva (Switzerland), and others.
