International Scientific Student Conference was held at EHU

The event, organized by the Academic Department of Social Sciences, brought together more than 20 young intellectuals from the European Humanities University (Vilnius, Lithuania), Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University (Ukraine), Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Ukraine), Emilio Aguinaldo College (Philippines), Vytautas Magnus University (Kaunas, Lithuania), and Sumy State University (Ukraine).

The conference program included 4 thematic panels, with student presentations focused on topical issues in political science, law, economics, media and communication, sociology, gender studies, and psychology.

The main objectives of the conference were to encourage students to conduct high-quality academic research, exchange ideas and expertise in various fields of socio-humanitarian knowledge under the guidance of academics, and strengthen cooperation with foreign higher education institutions.

Professor Krzysztof Rybinski, Rector of the European Humanities University, opened the conference with a welcoming address to the audience. In particular, Prof. Rybinski emphasized the significance of student research for professional development and the strengthening of research culture. As Prof. Rybinski noted, the university is not only an educational institution but also a scientific center and an intellectual platform for the development of ideas that will shape future reforms and drive democratic transformations in Belarus and the region.

Welcoming speeches were also addressed to the audience by:

  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ingrida Daneliene, Head of the Academic Department of Social Sciences, EHU;
  • Prof. Hab. Dr. Ganna Vlasova, Head of the Department of Public Law, Boris Grinchenko Kyiv University (Ukraine).

“The conference was great! The program was rich and diverse, offering a wide range of topics and speakers. The organizers have done an excellent job, providing a comfortable space for communication and knowledge exchange. I especially liked the speeches of foreign colleagues who shared their research and ideas. The conference was useful for my professional activity. I’ve received valuable knowledge and new perspectives that will help me in my work. It was also wonderful to communicate with colleagues from different countries and exchange experiences. The organizational aspects were well thought out, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the event. In general, I am completely satisfied with the conference and hope to take part in similar events in the future,” – shared Ignatii Varenov, World Politics and Economics, 1st-year student.

By creating an environment that fosters students’ academic and research potential, develops their soft skills, and integrates them into the research community from the early stages of their university journey, the conference lays the foundation for a valuable and enriching experience.
