About the Course
This course focuses on professional English communication in international and intercultural contexts, with a focus on diplomacy, business, and non-profit work. You will practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in realistic scenarios drawn from global workplace environments.
The course includes direct instruction, simulations, discussions, and presentations, with attention to tone, clarity, diplomacy, and cross-cultural competence.

Dr. Angela Dadak, MATESOL, PhD, is a U.S. Department of State English Language Fellow at EHU. With extensive experience teaching English to professionals worldwide – including graduate students, business leaders, diplomats, and educators – Dr. Dadak brings a wealth of expertise to this course.
Course Overview
The course includes 8 interactive sessions, covering topics such as:
✅ First Impressions: Greetings and introductions – for yourself, your organization, and others
✅ Making Connections: Networking and small talk
✅ Hitting the Right Tone: Formal and informal language across cultures and contexts
✅ In Front of an Audience: Presenting information, asking about implications, giving advice
✅ On the Spot: Participant presentations, question-and-answer techniques
✅ The Language and Procedures of Meetings: Agendas, chairs, participants, inclusion
✅ At the Meeting: Responding to questions and suggestions; navigating difficult moments;
