Dr. U. Ivanou delivered a report “How to convey the phenomenon of non-binary in Belarusian: new challenges of gender linguistics”. For the first time, an uncomfortable and poorly developed topic in Belarusian social sciences and humanities was articulated at the academic level. The speech was based not only on theoretical but also on practical developments (survey of non-binary persons, methods of play, reconstruction, neology, and comparison with other languages).
The full text of the study, as well as other results of the conference, will be available in the fall of 2023 when the new 23rd issue of the journal “Acta Albaruthenica” published by the University of Warsaw will appear.
