“Stress, Learning, and the World Around Us”: Join EHU’s Meeting with Asya Kazantseva

At the European Humanities University, a series of open lectures and meetings with outstanding public intellectuals is commencing.

As part of this lecture series, the first event will take place on November 21, 2023, featuring an online meeting with the popularizer of science Asya Kazantseva, titled “Stress, Learning, and the World Around Us: What to Do When Things Don’t Go as Planned?”

Asya Kazantseva is a neurobiologist by education (MSc, University of Bristol, 2021), a science journalist and editor, and the author of popular science bestsellers (“Who Would Have Thought,” 2014; “Someone on the Internet is Wrong,” 2016; “The Brain is Material,” 2019; “Where Do Babies Come From,” 2023). She is also the “Enlightener” Prize laureate (2014) and the recipient of the Chevening Scholarship (2019).

Topics for discussion include:

  • What is stress, anyway?
  • How does it affect attention, learning, and memory?
  • How can we resist it?

This event is designed for a wide audience, including:

  • High school students planning to enroll in university, to become familiar with the academic environment;
  • Students from all programs and courses to expand their knowledge about stress and methods of overcoming it;
  • Teachers and professors to enrich their professional experience;
  • Anyone interested in psychology, educalogy, and cognitive studies.

The meeting will be conducted in the Russian language.
