The new issue of the “Topos” magazine has been released

The first issue of the philosophical and cultural journal “Topos” for the year 2023 has been published. This issue is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the French philosopher Cornelius Castoriadis.

The editorial board includes A. Vozyanov, A. Gornykh, V. Korablyova, A. Langenohl, G. Orlova, I. Poleshchuk, A. Ousmanova, T. Shchyttsova (editor-in-chief), N. Sarakavik (academic secretary).

In the opening article of the special issue, Andrey Rolyenok delves into Cornelius Castoriadis’ philosophical heritage, characterizing it as an “invitation to meticulously bring his ideas into the present and sustain a philosophical exploration rooted in the valuable insights contained within his writings.”

The articles presented in this issue continue the tradition of interdisciplinary discussion aimed at analyzing various aspects of socio-humanitarian knowledge in the modern era. The issue explores various facets of Cornelius Castoriadis’s philosophical work in the context of the influence of his ideas on society, culture, and politics. The articles offer a comprehensive examination of Castoriadis’ theories and their relevance in contemporary discussions about democracy, societal transformation, and artistic self-expression.
