The Master’s programme in Gender Studies is designed to prepare highly qualified professionals in sociology with gender expertise, ready to promote gender equality and social transformation in Europe and beyond.

What does the programme offer?

• Multidisciplinary approach, drawing from sociology, law, media, politics, technologies, and more, to provide a comprehensive understanding of how gender affects the life and development of societies.
• Theoretical contributions in sociology, training in research methods, including advanced level, to increase capacity in carrying out their own research and developing a critical awareness towards analysis of contemporary gender-related phenomena and issues.
• Multicultural and liberal environment that fosters leadership and responsibility for initiating positive changes in society, empowering graduates with competencies to shape more inclusive societies.
• Convenient schedule of virtual classes scheduled in the evenings and on weekends to allow students to combine their studies with work or other personal commitments.
• English as a working language, which allows students to develop a good grasp of scientific terminology, analyse latest literature and documents, and be prepared to work not only at national but also at international level.

Program Curriculum

The Gender Studies program offers Part-time session-based format, featuring evening live online classes, active engagement with instructors, a flexible schedule, strong academic community support, and final on-campus assessment.

Graduates of the Gender Studies programme at EHU will be prepared for careers as:

• gender equality consultant for national and international organisations
• manager of gender-focused programmes

• educator on gender, equity and equality

Admission Conditions

Enrollment in master's programs is conducted without entrance exams, based on a motivational interview and confirmation of English language proficiency (B2 level or higher).
