This unique international program explores the intersection of political, social, and cultural history in 20th-century Europe, with a particular focus on how young people were shaped by – and responded to – state authority during the Cold War. Through a combination of interactive workshops, discussions, excursions, and creative projects, the camp offers an engaging space for reflection on youth agency, democracy, visual narratives, and state control – both historically and in today’s Europe.
Program Highlights:
- Workshops on youth participation, state power, and individual freedoms
- Exploration of Cold War visual culture and media literacy
- Excursions to Erfurt, Weimar, and other destinations
- A range of creative and collaborative learning formats
- International exchange with young people from across Europe
The program is designed for participants aged 18–27 and is based on principles of non-formal education, ensuring both academic depth and accessible formats for discussion and learning.
Practical Information:
- The number of places in the EHU group is limited to 5 students (she selection will be made on the basis of motivation notes).
- Accommodation, meals, and activities will be fully covered.
- Travel expenses will be reimbursed within certain limits.
- A participation fee of €50 applies.
- The working language is English.
