Dr. Tratsiak delivered a lecture for students of the “History” program titled “Language Policy in Belarus and Poland (from the 1990s to the Present).” The speaker highlighted key aspects of language policy in both countries, the status of national languages, as well as the programs for their implementation and mechanisms of dissemination. Special attention was given to the influence of historical and political factors on the development of the linguistic landscape – from the position of the Belarusian language after Belarus gained independence to the changes that occurred following the 2020 presidential elections.
