Visual Identity of the EHU 25th Anniversary Announced

n the AY 2017/18 the European Humanities University (EHU) commemorates its 25th anniversary since opening in Minsk in October 1992. A developer of the University‘s 25th anniversary identity EHU alumna Palina Keda describes the the new logo.

“The 25th Anniversary of EHU is an important date for everyone who is anyhow connected with the University. The logo that represents the occasion has to be extremely simple and laconic. At the same time bright signs have to depict the Anniversary mood. The colours symbolise creativity and fresh thinking which EHU students nurture within university walls. Juicy bright colours in works of a modern graphic designer Ray Oranges as well as simplicity and geometricity in Illustrations of a Spanish agency Advand studio inspired me to bring the corporate identity into reality in a such manner. As a result, we get a simple and elegant solution: the figures 25 which are made of combination of geometric shapes, balance and logic”. Subsequent stylisation of the logo was executed by Maryna Taiberman, EHU alumna (Class 2013, “Visual Design and Media”).

Palina Keda studied at “Visual Design and Media“ EHU undergraduate program from 2009 to 2013. In 2015 she received a Master’s degree in sociology after graduating EHU’s “Cultural Studie” program. During her studies at the University, Palina implemented several large-scale student projects. One of it, implemented under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Sergei Seletsky, is devoted to gender aspects of visual design, the other was dedicated to creation of visual brand-materials for EHU campus with Assoc. Prof. Vladimir Dovgyalo. In addition, the branding of Belarus in the media campaign of the World Hockey Championship-2014 in Minsk with PhD Assoc. Prof. Siarhei Liubimau was developed. Currently Palina works as a graphic designer in Vilnius and simultaneously develops her own company.
