For the first time, the EHU hosted the Open Doors in the new University premises of the former Augustinian monastery. 120 prospective students and their parents visited an exhibition of study programs to find out more about the study fields as well as about principles of academic freedom and and liberal arts education, which are the basis of educational process of EHU. Participants of the Open Doors used a possibility to ask questions to the University representatives about the study process, life in Vilnius, student mobility programs and preparation to the admission exams.
Student Polina Fetissova (Media and Communications, 3rd year) shared with the prospective students her experience of participation in Erasmus+ student mobility. Student Katsiaryna Shafranovich (International Law and EU Law, 2nd year) organized an intellectual quiz about the development of Belarusian culture and science for the Open Doors participants.
During the meeting with the University leadership prospective students and their parents took part in Q&A session and learned more about the specificity of the study process, alumni careers, the admissions and life in Vilnius.
Acting Rector Prof. Aliaksandr Kalbaska emphasized the importance of the independent choice that is made by senior high-school students for further academic and professional establishment. According to Prof. Kalbaska: “EHU studies allow students not only to fulfill themselves in the field of humanities and social sciences, but also contribute to the personal development. The experience of living in Vilnius allows students of EHU to develop independence, and creativity”.
More than 40 prospective students of EHU took a chance at passing admission exams in essay, design and English language during the Winter Open Doors.
