Dr. Valentinas Klimašauskas, a member of the EHU faculty, has won the competition for the directorship of the Contemporary Art Center

Dr. Valentinas Klimašauskas, a member of the European Humanities University’s academic community, an art historian, a contemporary art curator, and a writer, has won the Ministry of Culture’s competition for the directorship of the Contemporary Arts Center (CAC).

Dr. V. Klimašauskas is also a curator of the Lithuanian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale and the project zone curator for ArtVilnius’24. In 2021, he curated the Baltic Triennial of Contemporary Art, and in 2019, he curated the Latvian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. Additionally, he serves as the director of the Baltic Arts Magazine non-profit organization.

The CAC, a leading contemporary art center in Northern Europe, reopened in July after renovations. Its branch, the Palace of the Sapiegas, welcomed visitors in the spring.
