During their stay, both professors made presentations on preserving Jewish cultural heritage in Belarus to teachers and graduate students associated with the Institute of Jewish Art of the same university. Also, they presented the results of their four-year work on the topic of the actualization of the heritage of abandoned synagogues in Belarus. In particular, the project documentation of the former Ashmiany synagogue, developed within the framework of cooperation between EHU and the Belarusian Committee of ICOMOS, was transferred to the archive of the Institute of Jewish Art.
During the visit, one of the most important topics for discussion was developing a new EHU MA program dedicated to Jewish history and culture. To promote the idea of an MA program, professors held a series of meetings with representatives of the academic community and potential partner organizations from Israel, particularly the Israel Antiquities Authority and ANU – the Museum of the Jewish People in Tel-Aviv.
