Following section 3.2.3 of the Education Agreement and section 5.2.4.2, as of December 2023, the University terminated the contract with the student, signed on July 23, 2021, due to a serious violation of the Code of Academic Ethics of EHU.
This decision can be appealed to the Ombudsperson for Academic Ethics and Procedures of the Republic of Lithuania under the established procedure outlined in the legislation of the Republic of Lithuania in the field of science and education.
The student intentionally committed actions constituting a serious breach of academic ethics. Without waiting for the final decision of the rector, she created and disseminated an electronic document titled “Written Warning.” This document was distributed via email without the knowledge of the University’s Academic Ethics Commission. The student aimed to deliberately mislead the academic community, fostering an environment of distrust and hostility. Furthermore, her disagreement with the findings and actions of the Academic Ethics Commission was expressed in a particularly caustic and ironic manner, undermining the work and decisions of the Commission and completely disregarding the principles of mutual respect, solidarity, and tolerance.
It is important to emphasize the systematic basis of such behavior by the student throughout the entire period of her education. The current case represents the latest incident in a series of inappropriate behaviors that have seriously damaged the University’s reputation.
