Anastasiya Ranko is a third-year low-residence undergraduate student of the Media and Communications program. As hundreds of other protesters, Anastasiya was detained by civilian-dressed Belarusian law-enforcement agents on March 15. As a result of the trial, led by Judge Tatiana Rak in the Central District Court of Minsk, Anastasiya was sentenced to a 12 days administrative arrest.
EHU faculty, students, and staff express solidarity with the detained fellow student. University leadership is following the case closely and maintains the contact with the detained student’s family.
