At the end of the fruitful working meeting, Foreign Minister Linkevičius stressed: “I hope that substantial academic and administrative experience of the new EHU Rector will help the University to conduct urgent reforms, in particular, by means of strengthening research activities. EHU could continue its ceaseless operations in Vilnius as independent Belarusian university, which is one of the most important projects of Lithuania and the whole European Union in providing support to the Belarusian civil society”.
Prof. Ignatov expressed gratitude for transfer of the premises of the former Augustinian Monastery in the Old Town of Vilnius to EHU, as well as announced further plans in the position of the Rector, emphasizing striving to deepen the integration of the University in Lithuanian academic community.
