EHU Game Jam: 48 Hours of Creativity, Innovation, and Game Design

From March 14 to 16, the European Humanities University hosted the first-ever EHU Game Jam — a creative marathon where participants had just 48 hours to develop their own games. The event was organized by EHU’s Department of Humanities and Arts and the School of Digital Competencies, with support from Global Game Jam and the Lithuanian Game Developers Association.

EHU Game Jam brought together two programs — Visual Design from the Department of Humanities and Arts and students from the School of Digital Competencies. Over the course of two days, participants took their ideas from concept to fully or partially completed games, navigating every stage of development under tight deadlines. The jam’s theme was “resilience,” with participants exploring diverse interpretations — from mental health to combating propaganda and corruption.

The event’s program was packed with inspiring moments: an opening session and mentorship with Yaraslau Kot, an exclusive video message from game industry legend David Mullich, a live online session with concept artist and art consultant Vitaly Ishchenko, and a lecture by Lizaveta Klimovich on breaking into the game industry. In addition to working on their projects, participants had the chance to ask questions to mentors, watch the live broadcast of the LT Game Awards 2025 on the big screen, and share experiences with fellow developers.

Seven teams took part in the jam, and all seven crossed the finish line with a developed project. Attendees could also play the freshly created games on-site, providing an opportunity to experience the results of the participants’ creativity in real time, offer feedback, and exchange ideas with the developers.

By the end of the jam, four teams were nominated for special recognition: Team Evidence received awards for Best Teamwork and Most Meaningful Game, Team Gazeta was recognized for Best Game Idea, and the teams Vory and Project 341 shared the honor of Best Gameplay.

The event culminated with project pitches presented to a jury and invited guests. A special highlight was the involvement of the Lithuanian Game Developers Association, whose representatives not only showed genuine interest in the students’ projects but also handed out commemorative gifts to the participants.

EHU Game Jam became a true celebration of creativity, where everyone had the chance to showcase their talents, connect with like-minded individuals, and immerse themselves in the world of game design. The organizers are already considering the next jam, promising an even bigger event.

Stay tuned for updates and don’t miss out on future EHU events!
