Dr. V. Šadauskas joined EHU in 2018 and quickly advanced to a senior management position, serving as Head of Strategic Planning and Development and as Chancellor before assuming the position of Acting Rector in March 2024. As Acting Rector, Dr. Šadauskas has demonstrated steady and effective leadership by implementing internal structural reforms, enhancing EHU’s profile both in Lithuania and internationally, fostering partnerships with global donors and stakeholders, and stabilizing the university’s admissions, program development, and finance functions. The governing bodies of EHU selected Dr. Šadauskas as Rector based on his alignment with the position’s requirements, his strong performance as Acting Rector, his forward-thinking vision for EHU’s future, and longstanding dedication to the institution.
Dr. V. Šadauskas assumes the role of Rector at a time of significant challenges and accelerated change for both the university and the region. Having secured a seven-year accreditation earlier this year, the university’s senior management will focus on further increasing student enrollment, enhancing research capabilities, expanding program offerings, and strengthening the university’s finances. We are confident that under Rector V. Šadauskas leadership, EHU will continue to advance its unique role in providing Belarusians and young people across the region with a rigorous education rooted in shared values, fostering critical thinking and encouraging creativity. We wish Dr. V. Šadauskas and EHU great success over the next five years.
