During his visit, Dr. Ivanou delivered lectures titled “Belarusian Inclusive Language, Parts 1 and 2” and “Feminisation of Job Titles in Modern Belarusian.” He also participated in a seminar for students of the Belarusian Studies Master’s program, offering consultations in gender linguistics.
In addition, Dr. Ivanou participated in the international academic conference “Polish-Belarusian Linguistic, Literary, Cultural and Historical Ties”, held on April 7 at the Department of Belarusian Studies. He presented a report titled “The Masculine Gender as ‘Generic’ or ‘Generalised’ in the Belarusian Language: Sociolinguistic Remarks.”
This visit marks a step forward in the fruitful and promising cooperation between the University of Warsaw and EHU—currently the two leading centers of Belarusian studies outside of Belarus.
