Conference “City as a Feminist: Care Infrastructures and Cultural Heritage”

Is the city designed for everyone?

European Humanities University & Nordic Summer University are thrilled to host a two-day conference “City as a Feminist: Care Infrastructures and Cultural Heritage” this week in Vilnius!
From February 27-28, we’re bringing together 25+ participants from across Europe and the EHU community—feminist scholars, city explorers, artists, students, and community organizers—to rethink urban spaces through a feminist lens.
Urban design has long prioritized the needs of men, but feminist research is challenging this, revealing how aesthetics, mobility, and space shape our daily lives. Through thought-provoking workshops and presentations, we’ll explore how cities and cultural heritage sites reinforce gender norms—and most importantly, how we can design cities that care for everyone.
Stay tuned for insights and highlights!
