President Prof. Mikhailov and Mr. Ziemiak have exchanged opinions on the ongoing developments in Belarus and the importance of providing young Belarusians with access to rigorous liberal arts education — which stands at the core of EHU’s mission. Mr. Ziemiak was accompanied by representatives of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, one of the long-lasting partners of EHU.
Before paying visit EHU, Mr. Ziemiak, who is also a Member of the German Bundestag, met with President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda, Lithuanian Members of the European Parliament and Members of the Seimas, Estonian and Latvian politicians, as well as the representatives of the Belarusian diaspora and human rights organizations. Since 2005, Christian Democratic Union remains a major partner in the ruling coalition in Germany.
