The first meeting with the newly appointed Director of the Lithuanian Institute of History dr. Aurimas Švedas

During the meeting existing forms of cooperation at the level of individual faculty members were discussed. The parties agreed to resume the previously initiated dialogue on establishing a more structured and sustainable collaboration in the field of historical research. This renewed effort will include exploring opportunities for EHU scholars to engage in doctoral-level academic processes at the Lithuanian Institute of History in a variety of formats.

Furthermore, the meeting underscored a shared aspiration and emphasized a clearly articulated need for EHU to evolve into an institution capable of facilitating constructive academic dialogue on topics related to the shared history of Lithuania and Belarus. This vision reflects a mutual recognition of the importance of cross-border academic engagement and the value of open, inclusive discourse in addressing complex historical narratives.
