EHU faculty members among laureates of the 59th Belarusian National Award “Art of the Book”

On February 5-9, the 27th Minsk International Book Fair took place. Under the auspices of the fair, finalists of the National Award “Art of the Book” were announced. Among winners of the 2020 Awards and participants of the Fair — 3 faculty members of the European Humanities University (EHU) Department of Humanities and Arts.

Prominent Belarusian illustrator and artist, Assoc. Prof. Uladzimir Dowgialo, a faculty member of study programs “Visual Design” and “Visual Plastic Art” became a winner in the nomination “Mastership” (Best Book Illustrator).

Album “Belarus. Temple and Landscape”, co-authored by Dzianis Ramaniuk and prominent historian of art, a faculty member of undergraduate programs “European Heritage” and “Visual Design” Siarhej Chareuski, received Grand Prix and Francysk Skaryna diploma. Notably, the first-ever public presentation of the album has happened under the auspices of the EHU Campus in Vilnius in November 2019.

As a part of the Fair’s Belarusian National Pavillion agenda, numerous meetings between writers and readers took place, including the presentation of the “Night” (in Belarusian — Noč) novel, written by EHU Core Curriculum faculty member Assoc. Prof. Victor Martinovich. Upon the presentation of the novel, which initially was first presented at EHU in Vilnius in October 2018, an autograph session took continued.
