The book Vilnius. An Anthology of 20th-Century Belarusian Poetry has been published

The publishing house Logvinov has released an anthology of Belarusian poetry dedicated to Vilnius—a city inextricably linked with the history and culture of Belarus. The collection features works by over 50 authors, including including Janka Kupala, Maksim Bahdanovič, Jakub Kolas, Nataĺlia Arsieńnieva, Uladzimir Karatkievič, Ryhor Baradulin, and others.

The anthology captures Vilnius through the lens of poetry from different eras and generations, portraying the city as seen by Belarusian poets. The book is further enriched by archival and contemporary photographs of Vilnius, taken by renowned Belarusian photographers Uladzimir Parfianok and Dzianis Ramaniuk.

The artistic editor of the publication is Siarhej Chareuski, an art historian, cultural scholar, and lecturer at the Department of Humanities and Arts at EHU.

“This book is not about grandeur, but about love. It was created with love—for the city, for poetry, and for our native language,” say the anthology’s creators.

The book is available on the publisher’s website and in the library of the European Humanities University.
