AI Aware Universities project

About the project

The Center for Humanities Education (EHU Academic Department of Humanities and Arts) and the EPAM School of Digital Engineering are pleased to announce their participation in the AI Aware Universities project.

The AI Aware Universities project is organized by the Center for Information, Democracy, and Citizenship (CIDC) at the American University in Bulgaria and funded by People Powered in collaboration with five European Universities: LCC University, Bard College Berlin, European Humanities University, BISLA, Central European University, to work together on addressing the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence on universities and education.

The project  will be bringing together students, faculty, and staff to get upskilled on the issue of AI, and then engage in deliberation process about utilizing the benefits of AI in academia, staying mindful of its threat to academic integrity.

This project aims to create publicly sourced recommendations for the ethical use of AI software and tools at universities through participatory democracy methods.

By doing this, we will achieve the following objectives:

  • – Build trust among students, faculty, and staff by putting them on an equal footing and giving them the option to deliberate openly and freely.

  • – Empower students to take the lead and run the participatory process.

  • – Broaden the perspectives on the ethical use of AI at across partner universities by developing as set of recommendations.

Join the project

Our initiative aims to foster dialogue among EHU students, faculty, and staff members regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its applications within an academic environment.

We welcome participants from diverse backgrounds, regardless of their prior knowledge or experience with AI-related topics. To ensure participation on an equally informed level, the participants are strongly encouraged to attend all the project sessions and actively engage with additional self-study materials.

We want to ensure that the participants joining the project are representatives of all EHU academic community.
