EHU initiative demonstrates how academic flexibility and language integration can empower international students to enter the Lithuanian labor market during their studies.

As part of a new initiative led by the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation, the European Humanities University (EHU) has been recognized for pioneering efforts—driven by its Rector—to adapt academic processes that support student employment during their studies. This initiative marks a strategic shift toward aligning higher education with labor market needs and employer expectations.

A particularly valuable meeting was held with Vice-Minister of the Economy and Innovation, Agila Barzdienė, who warmly welcomed EHU’s initiative to bring students closer to the labor market and expressed hope for close cooperation within the framework of the new measure.

Key measures include flexible scheduling of academic activities, integration of Lithuanian language into study programs, and strengthened English language instruction. These efforts create favorable conditions for international students to work while studying and contribute to Lithuania’s broader strategy for attracting and retaining international talent.
