Series of Three Lectures on Mediation by Prof. Dr. Irakli Kandashvili

The Academic Department of Social Sciences and Center for Strategic Planning and Development in the framework of the Erasmus + program invite everyone to a series of three lectures on Mediation – a form of (Alternative) Dispute Resolution.

  • The first lecture will take place on 16 May and will focus on Concept and importance/role of Mediation; Place of Mediation between dispute resolution mechanisms; Principles of Mediation.
  • The second lecture will take place on 17 May and will focus on Mediator (how to become a mediator; role of mediator); Phases of mediation process.
  • The third lecture will take place on 18 May and will focus on International Standards of Mediation: European Directives and Singapore Convention on Mediation.

The guest speaker will be:

Prof. Dr. Irakli Kandashvili is a licensed mediator, accredited by Center of Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR London Office) and he is also Chairman of Mediators Association of Georgia.

Dr. Irakli Kandashvili is an Attorney in Georgia, admitted to practice law in all court instances of Georgia as well as in front of the European Court of Human Rights (has won three cases at ECHR as well as is currently representing several clients in front of the European Court of Human Rights).

Dr. Irakli Kandashvili was a Board Member (2013-2021) of Georgian Bar Association (mandatory Bar Association for practicing attorneys), dealing with CLE and Education Programs for Georgian lawyers, as well as dealing with international donor organizations for GBA.
