Public lecture by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs “Eastern Partnership program turns 10 years: Quo Vadis?”

On October 31, the European Humanities University (EHU) is pleased to welcome students, faculty, staff and guests of the University at the public lecture by H.E. Edgars Rinkēvičs, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia. The event is organized in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in Republic of Lithuania.

Public lecture “Eastern Partnership program turns 10 years: Quo Vadis?” is a part of Minister’s official agenda of the working visit to Lithuania. In his lecture Minister Rinkēvičs will cover the achievements of the Eastern Partnership program during its first decade of operations and will address the further avenues of development of the cooperation between the European Union and its Eastern Neighborhood.

Introductory notes by Minister Rinkēvičs will be followed by Q&A session, moderated by EHU Head of Communication and Development Unit Maksimas Milta.

Edgars Rinkēvičs holds the office of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia since October 25, 2011. Prior to that, he led the Chancery of the President of Latvia and for more than a decade served as Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Latvia. Minister Rinkēvičs is a graduate of the University of Latvia and the US National Defence University.
