About the Lecturer

Dr. Maddie Winter is a Researcher at the School of Business and Governance, Tallinn University of Technology and a Research Fellow at the Institute for the Future of Work in London. She completed her PhD at the University of Edinburgh, UK, specializing in the intersections of gender, work, and technology. Her research focuses on qualitative, participatory, and critical methodologies, with an additional interest in innovative, interdisciplinary, and radical pedagogies.

Lecture Topics

  1. Introduction to Gender, Work & Technology
    An overview of how these concepts are interconnected, with a focus on work’s role in feminist emancipatory aims.
  2. The Affective Economy
    Exploring how technology, including surveillance, intersects with race and gender to reshape work in care sectors.
  3. The Agile Economy
    Examining the “ideal worker” concept and its gendered implications in modern labor structures.
  4. The Prosumer Economy
    A discussion on gendered aesthetics, conspicuous consumption, and the pursuit of a “good life.”

Certificates of attendance will be issued to participants who complete the series.
