The topic: “Modern International Crimes”.

In this lecture, we will consider issues related to crimes in international law and the concept of crimes in international law. In particular, we will discuss: 

  • Crimes of an international nature that encroach on the normal conduct of international relations.
  • Crimes of an international nature that encroach on the normal conduct of international economic relations.
  • Crimes of an international nature that encroach on human, property and other rights, moral norms of society, etc.
  • Transnational crimes: terrorism, corruption, money laundering, slave trade, human trafficking and illegal transportation of migrants, drug trafficking, etc.

Among other things, in this topic, we will analyze the main concepts and differences between them in modern approaches to understanding the concept of international crime. Correlation of the concepts of “international crime” and “crime of international character”. The relationship between the concepts of “international crime” and “conventional crime”. Classification of crimes of an international nature. International crimes against human rights and freedoms. Economic crimes of an international nature (counterfeiting, legalization of proceeds of crime, etc.). Corruption crimes of an international nature. International crimes against public security. Environmental crimes and crimes committed on the continental shelf and in the exclusive economic zone. Encroachment on the national and cultural heritage of peoples.
