The seminar is aimed at analysis of the current state of the historical memory in Russia, Central and Eastern Europe. A formal part of the meeting consists of the following sessions:
- “The concept of historical memory? Visions of the past in the Central and Eastern Europe” —Alvydas Nikžentaitis, President of the Lithuanian National Historians Committee;
- “Who does Russia raise monuments up to or the new momunumental propaganda”— Alexey Makarkin, first Vice-President of the Center of Political Technologies;
- “Wars of memory in the modern Russia: frontline and losses” — Nikita Sokolov, deputy research director of the Yeltsin Center;
- “Diversity of “histories” within the national History (Russia’s case)” — Alexey Kara-Murza, deputy of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

NB! In order to participate in the event, please proceed with the online registration. The seminar will be held on September 23 from 10 am untill 7:30 pm in room 110 of the Lithuanian Institute of History, located at Kražių g. 5 in Vilnius.
The reports will be followed by the coffee break discussions. In the list of invited experts are the lecturer of the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of the Vilnius UniversityVytis Jurkonis, journalist Pranas Morkus and founders of the Moscow School of Civic Education Lena Nemirovskaya and Yury Senokosov. EHU President Prof. Anatoli Mikhailov will make a welcome speech on the seminar.
