How much does tuition cost?
You can find tuition rates for all programs in the “Tuition Fees” section.
Are there any scholarships?
For talented and gifted Master’s students, the University offers a grant system, which is awarded based on the results of a portfolio competition. If you have achievements in science, academics, creativity, or community service – you have a chance to receive a grant and study for free.
📌 Grants are awarded every semester, so you can continuously improve your portfolio and influence your tuition costs.
How to compete for a grant?
After signing the study contract and paying for the first semester, first-year students can apply for the grant competition. To do this, you need to prepare and upload a portfolio consisting of two parts:
✅ Achievements and/or work samples
This section confirms your knowledge, experience, and professional potential. You can include:
- diplomas of winners and finalists of competitions and academic conferences,
- participation in research, social, and volunteer projects,
- publications in academic journals, collections, professional or popular media,
- research papers, articles, essays, analytical reviews, monographs,
- creative works: audiovisual projects, literary works, design projects, and other forms of self-expression,
- awards, grants, and scholarships for academic or social achievements,
- patents, developments, startup projects, and innovative solutions.
📌 The University does not limit the format of your achievements – showcase your best work!
✅ Motivation letter
A brief letter (up to 1 A4 page) explaining how your achievements and experience align with EHU’s mission. The text should be logical and well-argued — this is your opportunity to demonstrate why you deserve the grant.
📌 The University’s mission is outlined in the EHU Strategy for 2019–2024, available in the “Documents” section on the website.
💡 If you win a grant, your first semester payment won’t be lost — you can choose to have the amount refunded or applied toward future semesters if the grant support ends.
📢 Your talent is your chance to study for free at EHU!
✅ English proficiency confirmation
To apply for a Master’s program, you must confirm your English proficiency at B2 level or higher. You can do this in one of the following ways:

- Provide a diploma or academic transcript from a linguistic university, translation faculty, or linguistic college.

📌 For EHU Bachelor’s graduates: if your final grade in English is 8 or higher, it can be used for admission. If you are not satisfied with your result, you can take the online exam or provide a TOEFL/IELTS certificate.
📝 What is the internal English exam?
An entrance test designed to assess the English proficiency level of Master’s applicants according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
How does the exam take place?
The entrance exam consists of two stages: a written test and an oral interview with an examiner.
- Both stages are conducted online – detailed connection instructions will be provided before the exam.
