According to Julia Titova, Associate Professor of the Department of Humanities and Arts and Chair of the Commission, the decision recognized Yulia’s exceptional achievements in personal creativity, unique artistic vision, high level of skill, and depth of content. “The commission particularly noted the interdisciplinary approach of the winner. Yulia Vorik demonstrated outstanding abilities in integrating various disciplines, making her works both artistically expressive and conceptually profound. Her active participation in creative projects, professional development, drive for self-realization, and contributions to the cultural environment were important factors in the decision to award the scholarship.”
As part of the scholarship requirements, Yulia will deliver a solo exhibition or another creative project by June 2025.
The Valery Lobko Scholarship is an annual award recognizing EHU students for outstanding academic achievements and significant contributions to the visual arts.
About Valery Lobko
Valery Lobko (1951–2008) was a photographer, designer, and critic, and one of the founders of the Minsk School of Photography. He was a member of the Belarusian Union of Designers and the Belarusian Union of Photographers. Lobko’s works and publications are part of prominent collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm and the Danish Royal Library. He developed innovative techniques in non-camera photography and served as editor and curator for numerous exhibitions and publications.
The Valery Lobko Scholarship was established at EHU to honor his significant contributions to the development of the university, its academic environment, and its unique creative atmosphere.
