The first lecture will take place on 19 October and will focus on State responsibility: International Court of Justice, human rights mechanisms, treaties and jurisdiction.
The second lecture will take place on 20 October and will focus on Individual criminal accountability: International Criminal Court, universal jurisdiction and head of state immunity.
The third lecture will take place on 21 October and will focus on Evidence gathering: practice of documenting atrocity crimes for accountability.
The guest speakers will be:
Dr Marieke de Hoon is Assistant Professor of International Criminal Law at the University of Amsterdam. She is also Director of the Netherlands Office and Senior Counsel at the Public International Law & Policy Group. She is an expert on (post-)conflict justice for core international crimes.
Sindija Beta is Senior Research Associate at the Public International Law & Policy Group (the Netherlands Office) working in various transitional justice and human rights documentation projects. Previously, she worked at the European Commission in the Cabinet of the European Commission.
