Additionally, EHU leadership informed VMU counterparts about the progress of enhancement of organizational and financial management of EHU, and status of University’s preparations for the Donors Conference, scheduled for April 19, 2017.
According to Acting Rector Jørgensen: “After almost 11 years of EHU’s operations in Vilnius, our University is determined for a deeper cooperation with our Lithuanian counterparts. We believe in a reciprocal approach and therefore are looking forward to learning from success stories of our colleagues, and to share own expertise and knowledge in a more profound form. EHU’s recent developments provide bigger opportunities for enhancement of mutual cooperation in the framework of Lithuania’s higher education area and we are thankful to Vytautas Magnus University for being able to discuss our common prospects”.
VMU Rector and President of Lithuanian University Rectors Conference Prof. Augutis says: “We are cooperating closely and organizing a joint study program. Our collaboration is special, as EHU’s study system is similar to VMU’s own liberal arts system. We look forward to possible closer cooperation in the future, but nevertheless we applaud EHU’s mission of free and democratic studies and their efforts of keeping democracy alive at the university”.
EHU and VMU share a history of successful interinstitutional academic cooperation in the area of undergraduate (World Politics and Economy) and doctorate (Philosophy) degrees.
