On June 28–30, the European Humanities University hosted an international conference “Thinking in Crisis”. The conference raised questions about the difficult situation that has been developing around liberal education in recent years.

The EHU is grateful for all participants of the Conference for attendance and participation. Prof. Povilas Aleksandravičius and prof. Anatoli Mikhailov spoke on behalf of the EHU.

The first day of the Conference was opened with a speech by the Rector of the European Humanities University, Professor Sergei Ignatov. All subsequent speakers spoke about the problem of the formation of non-standard thinking in modern realities and about the speculative method on the way to the future.

The second day began with a speech by the founder of the European Humanities University, Anatoli Mikhailov. Also, it is impossible not to mention the lecture of the speaker Francesco Alfieri on the topic “What is the role of the intellectual today? How do we “go beyond” the Machenschaft in which we are embedded?” Mr Alfieri took a close look at the term “crisis”, including an analysis of the so-called “system” in which we all live.

Chantal Delsol discussed how the crisis of faith is related to the idea of linear time and progress.

At the end of the second day of the Conference, Friends of EHU Robert Nuri, Michael Kennedy, Gregory Prince made a surprise and had an online call with the founder of the University Anatoli Mikhailov.

The third day of the Conference continued with the common discussion between participants.
