The International Search for the Position of EHU Rector: out of 17 Candidates, 3 Were Shortlisted for Final Consideration

In May 2022, an international open competition was launched for the position of Rector of the European Humanities University. The Search of a new rector was initiated by the General Assembly of Part Owners (GAPO) and Governing Board and published on the EHU website, along with contact information for the Search Committee. The Search Committee consisting of 11 members was formed by the Governing Board for the identification and screening of the best candidates for the position of Rector.

Search committee members are:

  • Two representatives drawn from the GAPO;
  • Four representatives drawn from the Governing Board;
  • Two representatives drawn from the EHU faculty, one of whom is a Head of the Senate of the European Humanities University;
  • Two representatives drawn from the donors of the European Humanities University, one of which is the Manager of the EHU Trust Fund;
  • One representative drawn from the student body of the European Humanities University.

17 candidates have participated in the open competition for the position of Rector of the European Humanities University. The Search Committee  has selected 3 candidates, who will be considered by the Governing Board on 12 January 2023. According to legislation (Data protection law, “Regulation of the Search Committee“, “Rules of procedure for the Recruitment in 2022 of the Rector of the Public institution European Humanities University“) personal information of candidates cannot be disclosed.

In the final phase, the best candidate will be proposed by the Governing Board  to the General Assembly of Part Owners, which should decide on the new Rector by March 2023.

The University’ Community, the media, Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Lithuania will be informed about the results of the Rector’s appointment.
