The terrible crisis that has gripped the countries of Eastern Europe since 2020 already influenced the development of the humanities, including Jewish studies. But epochs like the current one always accompanied the academy. The 4th EHU Conference on Jewish Studies in Vilnius of 2023 will discuss the state of Jewish scholarship during previous crises (1914-1918, the late 1920s – 1930s, late 1940s – early 1950s, etc.) and consequences of the current great reorganization in Northern Eurasia – for academics, scientific schools, and universities, where Jewish disciplines are taught. During the conference, the organizers are going to present the new MA Program on Jewish studies which is to be launched by European Humanities University.
