After EHU was forced to cease operations in Minsk and re-established itself in Vilnius in 2005, 2577 graduates have received Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees at EHU, 95% are citizens and permanent residents of Belarus. Thanks to efforts of the international donors’ community, thousands of EHU students received full or partial tuition waivers, merit-based scholarships, and social stipends. In the course of the last 15 years of political oppression in Belarus, EHU has become more than a shelter for students and faculty members, forced to leave their homeland.
EHU is the only Belarusian university that is fully committed to ensuring academic freedoms. Thanks to liberal arts-driven model of education, teaching in Russian and Belarusian alongside English-instructed classes, and coherent involvement of students into civic engagement activities, Belarusian students of EHU receive genuinely European education that allows them to fulfill own professional, civic and artistic ambitions both within and outside of Belarus.
As the result of doubling financial support, when applying to EHU, prospective students from Belarus are eligible to:
- 100% tuition waiver
- 50% tuition waiver
- Free accommodation at student dormitory (high residence students only)

The deadline for Additional Admissions (learn more in Russian) student applications is August 29. In order to apply, prospective students should pass entrance exams and motivational interview. For those, who are already studying in Belarusian universities and would like to transfer to EHU, please follow instructions (learn more in Russian).
