The seminar was attended by teachers, staff and students of the University.
Speakers:
- Michael Kozakowski, Ph.D. – Director of the Yehuda Elkana Center for Teaching, Learning, and Higher Education Research within Central European University, as well as Director of the OSUN network project “Developing Teaching Professionals” and member of the European University Association (EUA) Learning & Teaching Thematic Peer Group on the transnational provision of education.
- Matyas Szabo – Senior Program Manager at the Yehuda Elkana Center for Teaching, Learning and Higher Education Research within Central European University, since 2001, has regularly offered capacity-building workshops for university professors and staff in more than 20 countries.
The main topics of the seminar discussion included:
- Effectiveness of learning tasks depending on their type
- Implementing student-centered assessments
- Designing assignments that motivate and help further learning
- Objectives and reasons for grading
- Correlation of grades with expected learning outcomes and providing correct feedback to students
- Problems of Artificial Intelligence in the context of assessing student work
The seminar highlighted opportunities for introducing different types of graded assignments into curricula, as well as methods for grading students to ensure the quality of degree programs and identify student’s performance, gaps and strengths.
