EHU Science-Shop presented at the conference at the University of Groningen

On July 1, EHU lecturers Natalia Mikhailova and Kseniya Shtalenkova, together with their colleagues from CEU, delivered a workshop on “Changing Role of Science-Shops in a Politically Charged Environment” at the international conference Living Knowledge 9. During the workshop, the colleagues presented the results of the Science-Shop project and its first year of implementation at EHU in partnership with CEU, supported by OSUN. The main focus of the workshop was on the specifics of joint work between universities and civil organizations under the political pressure of authoritarian systems.

The Living Knowledge International Conference is held every two years and brings together the representatives of the academic community and civil initiatives that work within the framework of the Science-Shop model. This year the conference brought together more than 120 participants who discussed the development of practical knowledge in the context of education, as well as presented the most significant projects based on the match between science and activism.

During 2021/2022, EHU Science-Shop supported 6 projects developed at the request of representatives of civil organizations in collaboration with EHU students and faculty, including 3 projects implemented within the courses as real research cases, and 3 projects delivered in the format of pre-diploma practices. At the beginning of 2022/2023, a new stage in the development of EHU Science-Shop will be announced.
