EHU Professor Ilja Bereznickas is Awarded the Lithuanian State Prize for Culture and Art

The Lithuanian government commission, headed by cultural historian Dr. Vydas Dolinskas, selected 12 candidates for the award in the field of culture and art from 48 applicants. Among them was animator Ilja Bereznickas, a professor at the Vilnius Academy of Arts and a professor at the Academic Department of Humanities and Arts at the European Humanities University.

The applicants were evaluated by a panel of judges, including: cellist Mindaugas Bačkus, writer Danielius Mušinskas, translator Daiva Daugirdienė, adviser to the Prime Minister Gabrielė Žaidytė, actress Dalia Micheleviciute, artist Ernestas Parulskis, architect Artūras Asauskas, choreographer Lina Puodžiukaitė-Lanauskienė, cultural researcher and photography historian Dr. Margarita Matulytė, film critic Rasa Paukštytė, Vice-Minister of Culture Daina Urbanavičienė.

The state prize is awarded annually for significant contributions and outstanding achievements in the field of culture and art.
