On June 14, a delegation of members of the National Assembly of France visited the European Humanities University (EHU) as part of a visit to Lithuania. One of the key goals of the visit was to meet the students of the university. During the meeting, students and members of the delegation took part in a lively discussion and shared their views on current social and political issues.

The delegation included deputies of the lower house of the French Parliament: Frederic Petit, Sonia Krimi, Jean-Michel Clement, as well as assistant administrator at the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of France Alizee Ruffin.

Rector Prof. Sergei Ignatov met the members of the delegation and discussed with them the latest developments in Belarus, as well as shared the agenda of the main issues and challenges facing the university. The Rector expressed gratitude to the European Union and France, in particular, for their support.

After meeting with representatives of the university, members of the delegation took part in a discussion with students. During the Q&A session, students addressed the members of the delegation with a number of questions related to the situation in Belarus, Russia’s influence on what is happening in the country, sanctions against Lukashenka’s political regime, possible financial support for students, etc.

During the operation of the university in Minsk, the Franco-Belarusian Faculty of Political and Administrative Sciences existed at EHU. After the university was relocated to Vilnius, France was among the countries that supported the European Humanities University.
