EHU student conducted a report on gender equality in urban planning within the OSUN Science Shop

Many people from different social groups live in cities and they all use cities differently – this is confirmed by various scientific studies and public surveys. Živilė Mantrimaitė, a student of the MA program in Gender Studies at the European Humanities University (EHU), conducted a pilot qualitative study during her internship at the Office of the Equal Opportunities Ombudsperson (Vilnius, Lithuania) on how the needs of different genders are taken into account in Lithuanian city planning.

Five Lithuanian municipalities were interviewed in the study, and good examples of our country and other European countries were reviewed. Further details on the website of the Office can be found here. The report in the Lithuanian language can be found here. The internship was arranged within the OSUN Science Shop program at EHU during the spring semester of 2023.
